Blogging and first award!!

Sometimes I wonder why I started blogging? One of the main reasons was; me being asked for recipes and in email form. I am a person who can tell the recipe if I have made it once without even referring to a book or a document. But, for me to sit and type the recipe, it takes time. When I typed some recipes like that and emailed, I thought why not put it in one place so that I can keep track of what my changes were. But then, it takes lot of time and I don't have too many readers and I still wonder why I do this. But, I keep doing just for one reason: my soon to be 5 year old daughter asked me how she would make all the yummy stuff that I make when she grows old. I thought what best gift can you leave for your kids than a journal of recipes that you created and tested. So, I go on.

When I received the message from Vaishali of Adding Zest to your cooking saying she has an award for me, I was surprised. This is the first time someone has thought what I write is worth something. Thank you Vaishali. As per  the award rules, I now have to tell you 10 honest things about myself and pass on the award to 10 other fellow food bloggers who are honest in their approach to blogging. ( I copied this sentence from Vaishali's post)

Ten Honest things about me:

1.  I am a very tough critic. If I say something or someone is good, that means they are extremely good. I don't get impressed very easily.
2. I speak my mind. I don't think about how it might be received. It's always the truth and I get in trouble because of this.
3. I cannot stand liars.
4. I don't like whiners. I believe in if you really want to do something, you'll have energy to do it.
5. I am a clean freak to a good extent. To me, 'Cleanliness is Godliness' not next to Godliness.
6. I am a very talkative person. I can talk to anyone if I want to.
7. I am obsessive about the way things are. They need to be in their place. 'A Place for everything and everything has a place' is my favorite line.
8. I am very possessive about my things. 
9. I cannot resist sweets.
10. I can crack open a coconut without any problems, but I am very bad at breaking an egg. I don't like to touch an egg. (Go figure with all the cakes I have made)
