Akki Rave Rotti

I was actually thinking of naming this post 'Akki Rotti - Revisited' since the method I have used in making these rotti is the same as here. The only change is using equal proportions of rice flour (akki hittu) with fine soji (chiroti rave).
Here goes the recipe:

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1/2 cup fine soji
  • Green chillies - 5 slit lengthwise
  • Cilantro - chopped about a handful
  • Red Onion - 1 medium chopped finely
  • salt to taste
  • Oil - 1 TBSP to make the dough plus extra for cooking rotti.
Method:
Heat one cup of water in a pan. Add 1 TBSP of oil, salt to taste and let it boil. Using just the rice flour, make the dough as mentioned in my earlier post. In another bowl, mix rava/soji, green chillies, onion, cilantro. To this, add cooled rice ball that you just made. (It need not cool completely just cool enough for you to handle it) Mix all of the ingredients very well and make balls. I made 5 rottis of about 8 - 9 " diameter out of this proportion. Follow the method mentioned in the earlier post of akki rotti and make rottis. Serve with your choice of chutney/gojju. I have served with heerekayi chutney in this picture for which I'll give the recipe in future post.
