Irish Soda Bread

This is my first post in this blog. I used the Irish soda bread recipe from here.
Above you can see how the slices look. One is with jam and the other one is homemade pineapple cranberry chutney.

This is my first post in this blog. I used the Irish soda bread recipe from here.

Made changes and they are:
  1. Used 1 TBSP of apple cider vinegar topped it with soy milk to reach 1 cup in place of buttermilk
  2. Used 3/4 cup of black raisins.
  3. Used 1/4 cup of poppy seeds in place of caraway seeds.
Baked at 375 degrees for 30 minutes since I was using a glass pie dish to bake.

Notes:
Could add some cardamom powder or some vanilla. But keeping in mind the origin of this bread which represents frugality, kept it simple.

Taste:
This is actually very bland. It has no taste whatsoever. A glaze of orange juice and powdered sugar could help and so does sprinkling with cinnamon sugar mixture before baking.

This one goes to Vaishali's British event!! Pin It
