Non Blogger 'Swapna' made 'Cinnamon Rolls' for which she used the recipe from here. She not only sends the picture but also her changes as follows in her own words:
Changes I made to make it more healthy:
1) Used only 2 TBSP of butter(minimum required for soft dough) as against 4TBSP mentioned in recipe (Butter is the only fat part in this recipe)
2) Instead of silken tofu, I used yogurt - about 3 TBSP.
3) All oil used is olive oil.
4) While filling the dough with apple butter sauce and cinnamon and sugar, I added raisins, chopped walnuts and cashew nuts for a more healthy version (the nuts give a nice crunchy taste!).
5) I used just 3 TSP of white sugar with 1/2 TSP of cinnamon powder in filling. I omitted brown sugar(it gives a caramelized taste). If you have a sweet tooth, go ahead and add brown sugar!
End product - the rolls came out really well - puffed and browned - balanced amount of cinnamon and sweetness. Not very sweet like a desert bread as I did not add the brown sugar, but we like the rolls not being too sweet, so this was great for us!
Tip:
a) Mix the sugar and cinnamon powder together and then sprinkle. Otherwise it will not be evenly distributed and this way its easier to sprinkle all over the dough.
b) Also if you don't have applebutter sauce, don't worry. Just add 1 TSP of cinnamon powder instead of half a teaspoon. Applebutter sauce has cinnamon and cloves, hence the proportion of cinnamon is less in the recipe.
