When you think about why people blog, ultimately it is to reach a common person who shares the same enthusiasm in your area. Divya has successfully inspired another foodie who is not a blogger right now, but might be soon. Swapna tried Divya's 'Italian Bruschetta' and her narration in her own words followed by a wonderful picture. Thanks Swapna.
Changes I made to this recipe:
a) Did not mix all the ingredients in a blender. My tomatoes were ripe and sometimes when you blend the tomato and basil and other ingredients, the tomatoes seep out water making the bruschetta watery. I prefer it slightly crunchy and chunky as a topping. So I just finely chopped/diced the tomato and drained off water(only the tomato pieces), then add basil(if fresh finely chopped, I used dried basil powder), olive oil, pepper and salt. Let it sit for a while before topping on the bread and baking. This will give a good taste too.

b) Did not use the French Baguette. Instead used normal whole wheat bread (ready and handily available at home) cut into small squares. In this case- you have to bake the bread more to make it crisp as the bread is soft. Preheat oven to 375 deg., then bake for about 5-6 min(flip them over after 3 mins). After this, scoop the tomato-basil mix and bake for 3 mins.
My experience:
I was very happy with the end result and my husband loved it - is an understatement! The recipe was easy to make, simple and did not require much time or resources. I decided to make this just half an hour before my husband came home and it was ready by then(hence the trial with normal whole wheat bread instead of French baguette).. Thank you Divya..Good one :)
