For once I am glad I don't have to type in the whole recipe. I don't mind typing at all, but when all I did was to follow a recipe without much change, why repeat it here. I made these waffles using the recipe on KAF. The only thing I did differently was to use half whole wheat flour and half all purpose flour. Apart from that there is no change, except my waffle maker is square one and not a great one. So, pictures are not that good either. For those who love waffles, you should try these. I froze them and they freeze very well. All you have to do is warm them up in the toaster or in a microwave.
I let the batter sit overnight in the refrigerator and made waffles in the morning. The batter is very thick. That could be one of the reasons for it not spreading properly. I had couple of holes in the waffle. This probably won't happen if you have the cool belgian waffle maker which rotates.
I am submitting these waffles to 'Yeast Spotting' hosted here.

can we substitute eggs in this recipe?
ReplyDeleteI think these waffles looks great!! tempting and yummy..
ReplyDeleteNice waffles.Pictures do look good.
ReplyDeleteHarini, thanks for leaving a comment. Yes. You can use 1 TBSP of flax seed meal mixed with 3 TBSP of warm water for each egg. This works. I don't substitute because if I do, I'll eat it too which I don't want to. Kind of funny isn't it?
ReplyDeleteJagruti, Kiran, thanks.
nice waffles,love the recipe.
ReplyDeletePerfect little waffles. I don't have a waffle iron, so this is a visual treat only!
ReplyDeleteDear,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and letting me know. Just last week I pestered DH to get me stainless steel(All-Clad) pots and pan set and if I ask for anything else anytime soon, however cheap it is, i am in deep ****. I will ask for a waffle iron in a couple of months..In the meantime I shall try making a bread!
Hi, did you know I read every post of yours and sometimes leave a comment, it just struck me that I have not signed in to follow you. I just did it. The waffles look good. Its been a while since I made them.

ReplyDeleteHi Champa,
ReplyDeleteI tried this recipe over the weekend since I got a brand new waffle maker and wanted a fool proof recipe that I can count on. The waffles were very fluffy and delicious. I even had some left over that I froze. This recipe is a keeper for sure. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the feedback Deepa.
